Deciding where to build your new home is a big decision. You’ll want to find a community that suits you now — and for years to come. Let’s take a look at why Montgomery has been the top choice to build a home for so many people.

A Strong, Vibrant Community

Montgomery is a growing, yet quiet community straddling both sides of the scenic Fox River. More and more families are choosing to establish their roots in this cozy community. Yet, the village has carefully managed its growth and has successfully maintained its warm, small-town feeling.

Top Notch Schools

Montgomery is served by several school districts. The Marquis Pointe subdivision by Hartz Construction is within highly-rated Oswego School District 308. It’s one of the most outstanding public school systems in the state of Illinois. The district has experienced wonderful success throughout the years by demonstrating excellent academic achievement as well as an incredible offering of extracurricular programs.

School District 308 is the seventh largest public school system in Illinois, with an enrollment of more than 18,000 students in 22 schools, serving pre-kindergarten through 12th grade and offering alternative education programs and a transition center. District 308 covers 68.8 square miles, and serves all of Oswego, as well as portions of Aurora, Joliet, Montgomery, Plainfield, and Yorkville. Even with the impressive size, the school district has maintained an environment conducive to small learning communities focused on effective teacher instruction and improved student achievement.

Abundant Recreational Opportunities

One of Montgomery’s finest assets is the Fox River and its surrounding dedicated parklands and wildlife. The Village boasts one of the highest parkland-to-resident ratios in the Fox Valley, with more than 13 acres of parks per thousand residents.

Montgomery is served by the Fox Valley Park District and the Oswegoland Park District, each offering a wide range of classes and recreational opportunities for all ages.

The Village of Montgomery offers several well-maintained bike paths.  The Virgil Gilman Trail borders the Marquis Pointe Subdivision and runs from South River Street to Hill Avenue through the east side of the Village.

Phillips Park is a public golf course located a mile north of Marquis Pointe. The front nine meanders through a grove of massive oak and hickory trees, while the back nine rolls across the hills and through the trees that overlook nearby Mastodon Lake.

During the months of June and July, the Village of Montgomery and the Fox Valley Park District host Concerts in the Park on Thursday evenings at Montgomery Park.  Each concert event has a theme with a fun activity associated with it.  Past events have included line dance lessons, a free ice cream social and a BBQ dinner.

Every summer, Montgomery Fest brings together neighbors and friends from throughout the area to enjoy a weekend of old-fashioned family fun. Held the second weekend in August along the banks of the Fox River, families enjoy musical performances, carnival rides, a wide range of food vendors, free pony rides and petting zoo, a fishing derby, a car show and a parade.

The 5K and 10K River Run takes place every year on the first Saturday of October. The U.S.A. Track and Field certified course winds its way up and down both banks of the scenic Fox River.

State-of-the-Art Library in Your Back Yard

The Montgomery Campus Library is a beautiful, new, high-tech facility located within walking distance of the Marquis Pointe Subdivision. This family-friendly library is operated by the Oswego Public Library District.

Award-wining Health Care

The highly-ranked Rush-Copley Hospital provides a full range of health care services to area residents. And, it is located within a mile of the Marquis Pointe subdivision. In addition, the Rush-Copley Healthplex offers state-of-the-art exercise equipment, along with swimming pools, tennis courts and fitness classes of every type, as well as a 35,000-square-foot medical office complex.

Great Access to Transportation

The Village of Montgomery offers superior access to all modes of transportation. U.S. Routes 30 and 34 are the major east-west corridors, while Illinois Routes 25, 31 and 47 along with Orchard Road are the major north-south corridors providing access to Interstate 88. Both O’Hare and Midway International Airports are merely 45 minutes away. Montgomery is also served by the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railroad, with commuter access minutes away in downtown Aurora.

Great selection of Housing

Hartz Construction offers a variety of popular homes plans in its Marquis Pointe Subdivision, starting in the mid $200’s. The subdivision is conveniently located near the intersection of U.S. Routes 30 and 34. While it is near a hub of shopping, banking, healthcare, and dining, the subdivision boasts a peaceful setting that gently slopes toward a picturesque pond. The Hartz website, gives detailed information on each subdivision, including location, models, and pricing.
